Cs442 Project Report: Map Decomposition of a Mixture of Ar Signals Using Multilayer Perceptrons
نویسنده
چکیده
We consider the problem of classifying multiple simultaneous autoregressive (AR) signals based upon the observation of their sum using a multilayer perceptron network (MLP). We propose a method that allows the training of the classiier to be performed on separate AR processes , and uses the Bayesian interpretation of the outputs of a MLP to obtain the maximum a posteriori probability decomposition of a mixture of simultaneous AR processes. Some simulations results are presented. The extension of our method to a more general class of problems is discussed .

Fault Classification in Cylinders Using Multilayer Perceptrons, Support Vector Machines and Guassian Mixture Models
Gaussian mixture models (GMM) and support vector machines (SVM) are introduced to classify faults in a population of cylindrical shells. The proposed procedures are tested on a population of 20 cylindrical shells and their performance is compared to the procedure, which uses multi-layer perceptrons (MLP). The modal properties extracted from vibration data are used to train the GMM, SVM and MLP....
متن کاملEstimating the Number of Components in a Mixture of Multilayer Perceptrons
BIC criterion is widely used by the neural-network community for model selection tasks, although its convergence properties are not always theoretically established. In this paper we will focus on estimating the number of components in a mixture of multilayer perceptrons and proving the convergence of the BIC criterion in this frame. The penalized marginal-likelihood for mixture models and hidd...
متن کاملUsing out-of-language data to improve an under-resourced speech recognizer
Under-resourced speech recognizers may benefit from data in languages other than the target language. In this paper, we report how to boost the performance of an Afrikaans automatic speech recognition system by using already available Dutch data. We successfully exploit available multilingual resources through (1) posterior features, estimated by multilayer perceptrons (MLP) and (2) subspace Ga...
متن کاملIncremental Learning of Auto-Association Multilayer Perceptrons Network
This paper introduces a new algorithm to reduce the time of updating the weights of auto-association multilayer perceptrons network. The basic idea is to modify the singular value decomposition which has been used in the batch algorithm to update the weights whenever a new row is added to the input matrix. The computation analysis and the experiments show that the new algorithm speeds up the im...
